Asymmetric dark matter can ignite type Ia supernovae and destroy neutron stars in the center of galaxies. I will discuss how ongoing gravitational wave, gamma ray, and optical observations can search for this asymmetric dark matter. More broadly, I will address how next-generation optical and infrared telescopes (JWST, TMT, ELT) are poised to surpass terrestrial underground experiments in the search for dark matter interactions, by measuring the temperature of old neutron stars.
