"Enceladus after Cassini"
Jonathan Lunine, the David C. Duncan Professor in the Physical Sciences and director of the Cornell Center for Astrophysics and Planetary Science
4:00 pm, 105 Space Sciences Bldg.
The solar system’s most habitable world (after Earth) retreats in Cassini’s rearview mirror after 13 years of exploration. I will review the evidence for the habitability of Enceladus ocean, and for the existence of the ocean itself (including THE seminal paper coming from our own research associates and senior research associates!). And the next step? I will explain why ELF is the way to go.
