The 6dF Galaxy Survey (6dFGS) and 2MASS Tully-Fisher Survey (2MTF) are large galaxy peculiar velocity surveys of the local universe, providing distances and peculiar velocities for thousands of galaxies, derived via the Fundamental Plane and Tully-Fisher relations respectively.  We discuss the cosmological results derived from these peculiar velocities, and the connection between the cosmological results and the cosmography of the local universe.
