Peter Gierasch Receives 2014 Gerard P. Kuiper Prize

Dr. Peter Gierasch is a professor of Astronomy at Cornell University and the co-founder of Cornell’s Center for Radiophysics and Space Research, which he led for over a decade. He received his bachelor’s and Ph.D. degrees from Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in 1962 and 1968 respectively.
The Gerard P. Kuiper Prize honors outstanding contributions to the field of planetary science.
In addition, Matija Cuk was awarded the Harold C. Urey Prize for outstanding achievement in planetary research by a young scientist. Dr Cuk, a researcher at the SETI Institute, received his Master of Science in Astronomy and Ph.D degrees from Cornell University in 2002 and 2005 respectively.
