for higher education students in NASA-relevant science technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) as well as New York primary, secondary, and post-secondary educators.
The New York Space Grant (NYSG) Consortium supports undergraduate research opportunities in space-related fields with various programs. Each year, undergraduates have the opportunity to participate in research during the summer and/or throughout the year in on-going projects sponsored by NASA.
Under the guidance of leading experts in their fields, undergraduates conduct research in a variety of science and engineering disciplines. The following programs are accepting applications:
+ Internships with NY State aerospace industry
The New York Space Grant Consortium anticipates funding undergraduate students for summer 2018 internships with various aerospace companies within NY State. To be eligible for NY Space Grant funding, a full-time student must be (1) a United States citizen, (2) a New York state resident or attend a New York college/university, and (3) majoring in a STEM (science, technology, engineering, or math) discipline. Additional eligibility requirements exist for each internship opportunity. Women and students from underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.

+ Internships at NASA centers
The One Stop Shopping Initiative (OSSI): Student Online Application for Recruiting Interns, Fellows, and Scholars is "a NASA-wide system for the recruitment, application, selection and career development of undergraduate and graduate students primarily in science, technology, engineering and mathematics disciplines. Opportunities for students in other disciplines are available." Using the OSSI web site, a student can search and apply for multiple NASA opportunities using a single application.

Tiffany Hawley (Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute) worked with OSIRIS-REx team members at the University of Arizona in the summer of 2014, producing multimedia to communicate aspects of the NASA asteroid sample return mission and to engage the general public.
